We planted lots of wonderful crops in the i Cento garden by the front parking lot. Take a look at our sprouts! We started learning about and created a compost pile to feed our hungry garden! All classes will get involved in the project in different ways...gravel path, mulching, etc. We would like to thank Sarah Dasso and Shannon Calder for their management of the 2008-09 garden project! |

Ms. Head’s fourth and fifth grade class learned how to “can” fruits and veggies thanks to Shannon Calder and Kelly Mochel. We entered our items in the Comal County Fair youth canning division and won several ribbons. Congratulations to the girls for learning such a wonderful skill! |

We had an amazing couple of weeks starting with Art Camp, which included painting, sculpture, decoupage, and paper mache. The children explored texture, color, layering, and taste (when we made salt dough). Then in Science Camp, we experienced firsthand the states of solid, liquid and gas using carbonated drinks and balloons. We also made bread and learned about chemical reactions. Altogether, it was a great success! |

We would like to thank Laura Dixon and her fundraising committee for going the extra mile to make the A Night in Old i Cento spring fundraising Casino Night a spectacular event! I believe a great time was had by all who attended! The Friends of i Cento-sponsored event grossed over $10,000 to further fund our building improvements. Installation of the newly required fire system will begin this month due to the efforts of everyone who participated! We truly thank you for all your support. If you did not attend and would like to donate to the building or scholarship funds, please send your check to the school and write “building" or “scholarship” in the memo line. |

Our Christmas concert was a joyful success. There were songs about snow, Ol’ Saint Nick, and a dinosaur. Our young participants and their parents had a great time eating cookies and even enjoyed a visit from Santa himself after the music was complete. |

We had a wet but fun time in Landa Park, singing songs for our Earth Day program. |
